Latricieres-Chambertin
One of the eight grad cru vineyards in Gevrey-Chambertin, Pinot Noir-dedicated Latriciéres-Chambertin resides on a slight dip on the Côte d’Or, near both Le Chambertin and Mazoyères-Chambertin. Its position gives it the unique characteristic of being almost entirely flat.
The vineyard has chalky soils which are conducive to successful harvests, as the vines must work for their development. The result is an abundance of intense, concentratedflavor in the fruit. Latricières-Chambertin was awarded its grand cru standing in 1937, as were all of the Gevrey-Chambertin grand cru vineyards. While not as celebrated as some of the other Côte d’Or vineyards, its rustic qualities continue to win over even the most discerning oenophiles.
