Frequently Asked Questions

ABOUT WINE

Q: How are the wines packaged?
A: Most of our wines are purchased directly from Europe in their original packaging. The wines are imported from Europe and sold as full cases.

Q. Does my order come with OWC (Original Wooden Case)
A: By default, we only ship the bottles to our customers but if you would also like the original packaging shipped alongside, then please reply to the confirmation email with the request and the additional shipping fee can be arranged. We wont ship original packaging if the case is a CC (Cardboard Case)

Q: What condition are the wines in?
A: As the character of the wine changes with age and responds directly to its environment and how it is cared for, Westgarth Wines is unable to guarantee the "drinkability" of every bottle sold, nor can Westgarth Wines be present to enforce such a guarantee. We can, however, guarantee that all wines are cared for professionally and properly stored in our facility from the time of acquisition. Any known defects will be clearly communicated if you and accepted by you, prior to shipment.

Q: Do you sell single bottles?
A: Westgarth Wines specializes in selling wine by the case. On rare occasions we list single bottles for sale but if the wine is listed on the site as a case, we won’t be able to sell you loose bottles from that case.

Q: Can you help me select wine?
A: To make your experience with Westgarth Wines more enjoyable and to further assist you in your wine selection, we are happy to discuss your contemplated selections and offer insight and advice. We are always open and honest and strive to provide our clients with the best wine experience. Please contact us if you have any questions about our policies regarding guarantees and drinkability.

Q: What are Pre-Arrival wines?
A: Pre-Arrival wines are wines that have not yet been imported into the United States. Delivery times for Pre-Arrival wines typically range from 30-90 days.

Q: What are En-Primeur wines?
A: En-Primeur wines are wines that have not yet been bottled. En-Primeur wines afford you the opportunity to buy them at the infancy of their life and can often be the most affordable price to buy. En-Primeur wines can spend 24-months in the barrel before they are bottled and available for importation.

PURCHASE

Q: How old do I have to be to purchase wine?
A: You must be 21 years of age or older to view the Westgarth Wines Website. Westgarth Wines does not sell alcohol beverages to anyone under the age of 21.

Q: Refund/Exchange/Return
A: All sales are final. Westgarth Wines does not offer returns, refunds, and/or exchanges unless the selected wines are unavailable or are unable to be shipped pursuant to applicable laws and regulations. Refunds will not be issued after the credit card has been run, unless the selected wines are unavailable or are unable to be shipped pursuant to applicable laws and regulations. Please be certain that you are able to commit to your order before placing them.

Westgarth Wines is unable to accept claims for wines that have been opened or tampered with as Westgarth Wines has no way of authenticating the claims once the cork has been pulled from the bottle. Westgarth Wines therefore cannot offer credit or accept returns for bottles that have been opened or tampered with.

A: No, as tariffs are not always imposed. Should there be tariffs at the time of your order, at checkout you will have the option to pre-pay the estimated Additional Costs or pay the Additional Costs 10-15 days before the wines are imported into the United States.
