The Blanc de Blanc Basics

A Blanc de blancs Champagne is a white sparkling wine made from Chardonnay, a white grape. Perhaps the purest version of this comes from grapes grown on a slope in the Côte de Blancs, as subregion in the appellation of Champagne. Within the Côte de Blancs there are six Grand Cru villages, each creating wines with their own personality. For instance, Cramant’s wines are known for being smoother and plusher while Oger’s terroir creates more austere wines.
