Burlotto, Barolo Monvigliero
Barolo, Piedmont, Italy
Presenting a light garnet appearance, the 2010 Barolo Vigneto Monvigliero boasts a playful touch of sweetness on the bouquet that comes as a pleasant surprise after the austerity and tightness of its sister wine, the Barolo Acclivi. Ripe cherry and blackberry coat the palate and the wine reveals lush layers of soft spice, tobacco and leather. At this young stage, it is characterized by mild intensity and moderate persistency. Long cellar aging should help it flesh out further. Drink, 2016-2028.
