A wine of precision and energy, the 2014 Barbera d'Alba Cerretta brings together the natural intensity and baritone depth of this site with veins of cool, bracing energy. Today, the Cerretta is almost uncharacteristically raw and unformed. Readers should plan on cellaring it for at least a few years. Hints of cranberry, pomegranate and white pepper add brightness and lift throughout.
