In the same ballpark, the 2003 Hermitage shows some evolution in its smoked meats, dried herbs, spice and dusty pebble-driven bouquet. Giving up more red and black fruits on the palate, it has plenty of texture, fine tannin and a solid finish. It too is drinking nicely, and should have another 5-7 years of longevity.
