(from two parcels of vines in Chapelle proper, one planted in ’65 and the other in ’38, 65% whole cluster). An intensely floral nose consists of markedly reserved and cool aromas of plum, spice, earth and a hint of game. There is that attractive quality of inner mouth perfume to the equally floral and refined medium weight plus flavors that display a subtle minerality on the extract-rich, balanced and utterly delicious if slightly lean finale. This will probably flesh out with time in bottle though that is not a certainty. 91/2025+
