A ripe, spicy and expressive multi-layered nose of red and black pinot fruit, earth, game, smoke and hints of anise, clove and exotic Oriental tea gives way to rich, cool, suave and very pure flavors that are lovely, refined and classy. This is understated in the mouth and possesses an ultra sophisticated mouth feel on the superbly long, focused and driving finish. This is not a huge wine by the standards of a classic Bèze but everything is in perfect harmony and it should be capable of 30+ years of positive evolution. 94/2020+
