Founded in 1961, Domaine Rossignol Trapet is the Burgundy offspring of the marriage between Volnay’s Jacques Rossignol and Mado Trapet, a member of the Gevrey-Chambertin wine family. Producing Grand Cru, Premier Cru and Village wines, the domaine is exceptionally well positioned with Côte de Nuits grand cru vineyards in Le Chambertin, Latriciéres-Chambertin and Chapelle-Chambertin as well as five Côte de Nuits premier cru vineyards in Clos Prieur, Petite Chapelle, Cherbaudes, Les Corbeaux and Aux Combottes. It also holds a premier cru vineyard, Les Teurons, in Beaune. Since 1990, Jacques and Mado’s sons Nicolas and David have run the domaine, and implemented tenets of biodynamic farming. Starting with Chapelle-Chambertin in 1997, the men oversaw a full-scale conversion of the domaine in 2004, and now yield some of the purest and finest wine in Burgundy.
