Dating back to the 14th century, the Clos des Lambrays vineyard, which has lended its name to the Clos de Lambrays producer, Domaine des Lambrays, in Morey-Saint-Denis in the Côte de Nuits, is replete with exceptional Pinot Noir grapes. The near-monopole land provides the requisite grapes to the domaine for its renowned Pinot Noir wines, which receive consistently high scores and ratings among esteemed critics. Vines in the Clos des Lambrays are old, with an estimate age of 40+ years. This assists the producer in creating wines with depth and finesse. In tandem with the signature Grand Cru, Lambrays also produces Le Loups, a wine derived from younger vines on the property. Spirits in the form of a brandy called Fine des Lambrays is also part of the full portfolio, and is made from grapes that have been maturing for seven years in oak barrels. Finally, rounding out the Domaine des Lambrays menu is Clos du Cailleret made from Chardonnay sourced from Puligny-Montrachet.
