ABOUT THE WINERY

A relative newcomer to the Burgundy production arena, Domaine Bachelet-Monnot was founded in 2005 by Marc and Alexandre Bachelet. But newcomer is a relative term: the brothers come from a long line of winemakers, which is evidenced by their ability to drive this domaine to its current status in such a short time. Moreover, they cover a total of 20 appellations, and produce close to 9000 cases of wine per annum. The 50-acre domaine is based in Dezize-les-Maranges in the Côte de Beaune region, and is dedicated to both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grape farming. It has the prestige of owning vineyards in grand cru Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet and Bâtard-Montrachet, along with premier cru plots in Saint-Aubin, Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet and Maranges. In tandem with their grand and premier cru offerings, the brothers also produce village-level wines from vineyards in Santenay, Meursualt and Chassagne-Montrachet.
