Chardonnay may have fallen from fashion but if you buy premium wine you know that white Burgundy, which is made of Chardonnay, well deserves a place on the pedestal. A round-up of Bourgogne’s white wines that are worth the most is headed by Domaine Leflaive Montrachet Grand Cru, followed by Domaine Romanée-Conti’s rendition of the same vineyard. No great shock there, but there are some surprises. Two spots are taken by premier crus, which in theory are less esteemable but there is a reason why many regard the Meursault Les Perrieres Premier Cru as an honorary Grand Cru! Coche-Dury’s bottling sits at number six, having risen in price nearly 30% in the last two years. Read up on the rest of the list here!
