A Bordeaux Stalwart Passes

by Westgarth Wines October 05, 2019

Jean-Bernard Delmas passed away October 3rd at the age of 83. He was renowned in Bordeaux for his winemaking genius. Born at Haut-Brion, his innovation steered the chateau for years. He championed massale selection and finding the proper terroir for his vines. He also worked at La Mission Haut-Brion and continued to consult at Montrose until very recently. He is survived by his sons Frederic, Jean-Philippe and their families.
