Alsace Grand Crus

Alsace Grand Crus

by Westgarth Wines July 11, 2017

There are 51 Grand Crus in total in Alsace, and while there are some Grand Crus in dispute, there are 7 of them worth focusing on. Rangen is the most southerly, and with great altitude and poor soils, produces age-worthy wines. Geisberg faces south, and is particularly good for Riesling. Mueenchberg, with its red sandstone is touted as being “magical”. Rounding out the top seven list are Vorbourg, Shoenenbourg, Hengst, and Sclossberg.
