As is usually the case, this is the most elegant red in the Rollin range with a refined nose of various red berries, in particular currant, along with pungent stone notes though interestingly in 2010 there is a hint of the sauvage that is not usually present. The cool and ultra-pure middle weight flavors benefit from wonderfully fine-grained tannins that just add to the overall sense of refinement that the sophisticated mouth feel corroborates. There is also that wonderful sense of underlying tension to the focused, intense and impeccably well-balanced finish.
