{"product_id":"france-alsace-na-hugel-grossi-laue-pinot-noir","title":"Hugel, Grossi Laue Pinot Noir","description":"Vibrant red-ruby. Rich red fruit (red cherry, raspberry) aromas and flavors are complicated by hints of menthol, flint, sweet spices and herbs. Finishes long and youthfully chewy, but with very good, lingering red fruit perfume. The grapes used to make this wine are picked in the very best part of the Pflostig and the south-facing section of the Rosenbourg. Marc told me that there is a night-and-day difference between these two parcels of vines, as the soils are very different, one granite and limestone, the other one all limestone. Barrel-fermented in 20% new oak and aged in barriques, only 20% of which are new, for 10 months. Interestingly, back in 1990 the oak regimen in place at Hugel called for 100% new, but that proved overly generous and marked the finished wines too much. This will age very well, and it needs time to round out, forget about it in the cellar for five or six years at least (though in fact this will won’t be on sale for another four years. Just 3,500 bottles made. -- Ian D'Agata","brand":"Westgarth Wines","offers":[{"title":"2016 \/ 6x750ml","offer_id":50891423252647,"sku":"184568020160600750","price":870.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/2446\/2463\/files\/wwus-default-image_fa9527ab-ba61-4ad3-affc-5db8a9d6386d.png?v=1781698856","url":"https:\/\/westgarthwines.com\/products\/france-alsace-na-hugel-grossi-laue-pinot-noir","provider":"Westgarth Wines","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
