2019 was another hot, dry summer in Bordeaux and the overall quality of wines was very good. The châteaux that really shone were the ones who had a variety of terroir and expertise in the winery that retained the wines’ freshness. Yields were slightly down but not far off the ten-year average.
The 2020 Bordeaux vintage was excellent with a lot of top-scoring wines. A wet spring gave way to a hot, dry summer. April’s rain and August’s light rainfall sustained the vines, however. Yields were slightly down compared to 2015 but were more or less the same as 2018.
