More than ever, people continue to buy premium wine at auctions. The rates in third quarter of 2017 were up around the world, and the fourth quarter looks promising. Fine Burgundy such as Domaine Romanée Conti continues to lead sales, although a surprising renewed love for California cult wines like Screaming Eagle drove Sotheby’s and Acker Merrall & Condit sales up.
